Help! Trans slippage W115 300D 1975

Yesterday, I replaced trans line hose connectors and purchased some Chevron MD3 which is a Dextron compatible . . . .trans now slips badly as I added about 1/3 quart . . . anyone else have an experience like this? Should I drain trans and fill with regular Dextron. New owner was supposed to pick up car this morning . . . Help!

What I learned . . . . ATF was very low, car idled for 30 minutes while I slowly added and check atf - took quite a bit so I apparently was already low and drained off more than I realize when I changed ATF line hose connectors. Linkage was set up wrong (by me) It seemed right but was actually wrong which created the flaring issue . . . transmission problems averted! Sometimes when we hear hoof beats, we forget about zebras! In other words, the basics need to be double checked first!
