Gorilla Knob Replacement

So... I searched for this and found a couple pages of stuff talking about nothing to do with replacing it... I don't know what's involved as I haven't looked to replace it yet because I'm letting a friend drive the car while his is down... but he happened to break the knob, just the plastic little winged pull knob itself, not the whole arm... I'm just wondering is it something that just unscrews and you screw a new one on? or is it more involved? And does anyone have a place that might have it less than $40? lol... and still be able to get it in a few days to one week?

thanks in advance

just found it here - http://www.autopartsway.com/PartList.cfm?Mercedes-Benz/1974/240D/allSmd/allEn/allB/Electrical,_Charging_and_Starting/Starter_and_Related_Components/Starter_Pull_Switch_Knob - for $28.18

this is for a 1974 240D by the way

If you are tight on time and budget, this seems like a good application for superglue. I have used this glue with good success on many plastic parts. Just make sure they aren't dirty/oily.

Super Glue ULTRA Gel Control from Loctite Adhesives

not really tight on time... just don't like things sitting broken... I'll have it back this weekend and won't need to drive it for at least a week (and I can start it with a pair of plyers)... just making sure I don't have to pull the arm out of the dash and do a bunch of crazy stuff just to replace this knob - wanted to see if it just screws on and off... and if $30 was going to be the best bet?

thanks for the answer by the way

Here are a couple of links with guidance on the removal of the knob:
How Do I Remove Pull Starter Knob?
1974 W115 240D Pull Start knob - Rebuildable?

I have never done it, so unfortunately I cannot share any 1st hand knowledge. Good luck.

I have used that glue myself and it's amazing. It's my new duct tape.
