606 fuel problems

I have a 1995 E300D which has similar issues. The car was bought off Ebay from a crook in Chicago, Luxury Cars Inc. Ebay buyer protection is a total "bait and switch" scam if you don't already know. Everything on the car was "significantly not as described", but ebay and their partner in crime Pay Pal, ran me out of time and disconnected from the complaint process. Don't make large purchases on Ebay, period, it is "safe harbor" for criminals.
On to the fuel issue, I could bleed my lines and eventually get it started, it would then basically run until shut off, but would not restart. It supposedly had a new injection pump, but not verifiable. I should mention i am a registered MB mechanic, but have moved on from cars to heavy equipment diesel mechanics 20 years back. I suspected and checked cam chain stretch(200K on engine)and pump timing, but those prerequists are correct. I just recently ordered and received the fuel pump check valve. to my surprise, it does not completely close, I can blow thru it just like the one I took off. The small oriface, which is similar to the banjo bolt check/return used on more common bosch VE pump. The VE pump only needs to maintain 3-4 PSI . The pump on the 606 is similar to the P7100 which needs 18 PSI.

continuation of 606 fuel problem

I am going to install the new "check valve", i wish I knew if it was supposed to completely restrict the flow and what the desired fuel pressure is at the IP. I will let everyone know what i find, it is surprising that info on this pump is so non-existant, even the people I deal with at authorized Bosch repair facilities get "vague" when questioned about this pump and how it operates. If anyone knows for sure what the required fuel pressure is, let me know, otherwise i would expect it to need at least 12 PSI .
