Not yet but I suspect that in it's current configuration, it has close to 300 HP...

Most everything I've read about the M103 had been extremely positive. But, other than a 1990 300E that I owned briefly, I don't have much first hand experience.

I have been impressed by the M116, M117, M119, and M112 engines of the gasser variety. I like strong low end torque though and that is something the M103 lacks (as do most engines of its size/type)

I am a true diesel fan forever though, I often choose to drive my OM601 over my M116.

The 300TE is home in my driveway.

The drive home was great. The only issue was a hydraulic line started leaking about 5 miles from my house. It shot fluid on the exhaust and made a big cloud of smoke that scared my wife and I at first.

It goes in for a front end alignment, inspection, emissions, and fix the hydraulic line early this week.

I put my CLK wheels on it today and cleaned it up a little bit. More cleaning will occur after the car is all legal.

The 1995 E320 parts wagon is a PERFECT donor for this 300TE. It's an exact color match for the interior and exterior and is loaded with upgrades that will be nice to have in the TE.

I think I'm going to put the hood from the E320 along with the Euro headlights /wipers on the TE. The third row seat and hatch carpet pieces, heated front seats with armrest/console, roll top center console box, electric side mirrors, and cargo net/divider are also going over to the 300TE.

I think I'll use the wheels from the E320 to hold snow tires for the TE.

PICS:

CLK rims look better on that chassis over the 123 I think after seeing these pics. Question, why is tha spectacularly clean second wagon a parts car? Looks like both are amazingly clean.

The E320 had a flex disc failure that broke the tail of the trans and trans mount off, twisted the linkage off, broke the exhaust in pieces, broke the driveshaft, and scored the tunnel. The engine is in unknown condition and the front end needs work.

Both cars look clean, but the TE is in great condition mechanically. Using the E320 as a donor to the TE will make the TE have a 9/10 interior with nice upgraded features and an updated front end design.

The 300TE is almost ready to be a daily driver. It passed inspection and emissions after getting some welded in rust repairs, completely new exhaust, fresh brake fluid and hoses, e-brake repair, and loose grounds fixed to allow windshield wiper fluid pump operation.

I should get it back Monday or Tuesday after the high pressure line for the SLS is repaired at a local hydraulic shop and reinstalled.

I removed all the rear seat and hatch trim pieces from the parts wagon today. Once the TE is home, I'll swap them over.

The first priority is the rear seat and hardware for the cargo net. Then the front seats and heater switches with the center console.

After that I can swap the third row seat and belts over with the remaining trim pieces and have a 9/10 interior. I need to get the stereo working properly too. I think it's tapped into the wiring with the fader incorrectly. I'll probably wire the speakers direct to the head unit and see how it sounds.

I don't want to wait too long before swapping the the headlights, wipers, and hood over either.

I'll post pics as I get things finished.

Great TE. I am sure you will get luck with it. The TE would look great with a facelift. I am curious about this: is the 300E still going to remain in the garage? Or is the TE going to take its spot now?

The 95 is a parts car unless someone wants it as it is. The interior is in pieces and all of the best bits are on the 91. The car lost a flex disk and destroyed the transmission and driveshaft. The fender is rusted but otherwise looks solid. I'm undecided on upgrading the 91 to the 94-95 front end.

Not a bad deal from the Mrs. as far as keeping three rides of your own. by the way if IRC the TE was a forum members TE and E320 on BW? If I am not mistaken.
