W124 climate control circuit boards

Hello, is anyone familiar with the makeup of a w124 climate control box? The "off" button on mine is slipping so I pulled the assembly to try and finger it out, only to find I couldn't get at the switches themselves. Everything was blocked by a large circuit board (attached picture).

Surely there is another way to get at all the electrical goodies beneath?

I couldn't find any other obvious access points to the hard plastic "box" and the circuit board itself seemed steadfastly attached.

Unfortunately the car is my dd so I couldn't spend too much time looking.
