82 300SD is this operating temp too high?

It's 110 outside and I was just driving for 20 minutes on the highway at 70mph. In the morning when it is 79 on the same highway it only gets about to about 80C

Presumably, the a/c is on...............it's fine.

See that red zone above 120C? That's when you get into problems.

Just be sure you have a good pressure cap and proper 50-50 antifreeze in it.

Mine runs that temp all the time, even in winter. I think many of us have gotten a thermostat that runs a bit hotter than advertised. Not a problem in my opinion. A lot of the 7.3 Powerstroke guys install a warmer thermostat than stock as an efficiency and driveability mod.
