Fixed power windows 1984 300SD
When I bought the car, both front power windows would not work. Finally got around to taking the doors apart, pulling the motors. My brother then took them apart, cleaned and put them back together. They were rusted and seized up inside. Now my windows work again. So there's hope in restoring those old motors!
We needed up completely pulling the brushes out of the housing, cleaning the bearings and the shaft and everything works now. Actually really easy to take the motors aparts |

Agree. Back in those days MB's were designed for things to be repaired. For example I took apart the seat switch in the driver's door which had stopped working. It was full of ball bearings and points and contacts. But I cleaned them up and it has now worked for another ten years.
Wonder if the newer MB's are engineered that way? |

Ha! I thought you meant "fixed", as in "not moving".
