Unfortunately at the dealership local to me I usually get looks of "why in the hell are you bringing in that old hoopty" whenever I go in for parts, despite one of my cars looking like new and the other looking not too shabby either

When you remember to call your significant other with a reminder not to buy gasoline for the car today... "It's the green pump."

When you teach your significant other about the mechanical engine stop under the hood just in case.

When you find yourself wondering what it takes to swap a 617 into a '58 MB Diesel.

when you can arrive at the auto store to buy a new battery with the car running, and your old battery already removed and in the trunk

when you watch the movie "war of the worlds" and laugh as you would have been driving throughout the EMP without even realizing what in the heck is going on, then imagine what you would do with the glorious mechanical diesel power as society crumbles
