ive done search on center vents and read all the fixes,most mention plugging vac line to center vent pods and wedging open flap.how do i locate vac line to center vent pods as i want to plug them.

Forget all the threads you have read, you have the evil servo unit......98% of the threads on here are based on the later climate control units......I believe the center flap pod, is on the drivers side behind the knee panel....at least on the w123...

I have a rebuilt servo from George Murphy works well.jus t looking for easy way to locate vac line to center flaps.ill test lines under dash see if I can find which one activates center vents.im assuming that pods are leaking and thus I have a small vac leak

Did you replace the amplifier and sensor tube also? The amplifier should be replaced with the servo.....the tube turns to dust....thus the system can't tell the temperature..... And did you unfreeze the aux water pump? This is what blows the amplifier....and the servo won't work correctly......the center flaps are open when ever the system is on cool.....the close when on heat or deforst......I doubt you have a vacuum leak....as the car wouldn't turn off....

I think you are misunderstanding my question.servo works fine,heat and ac are great.this is not a servo question,it simply asked where is vac line going to center pods is most easily accessed.

Your saying servo malfunction will impact center vents even if I get cold from side vents.its a rebuilt amp as well as new foam tube

Just starting from the begging.....so sorry I will no longer advice or help on this thread.......I have learned that 99% of the time, the pods on these systems are not the issue.....people are unfamiliar with these system.....

But to answer you question......pull the knee panels from under the dash.....all of the pods are clearly visible....they are pink.....

I thought pods are behind center vents to control flap，what pods r u referring to under dash panel?are we talking about the same thing.there is a thread showing how one member got to pods,but I want first to check them with mighty mite first.i am having trouble shutting down.will plug door circuit and hbac circuit to see which one is leaking.

Last I checked, the center vents were in the dash....but maybe I am wrong.....

Also last I checked, if these vents are in the dash.....the vacuum pods are also in the dash....

Not sure what type of Mercedes you have, but the typical Mercedes has the climate control in the dash....but again maybe I am wrong.....

This is a diagram of the location of the pods on the newer CCU in the w123 but they are in the same location on the older CCU....but then again your center vents aren't in the dash....so I give up.....



I would also say, that the leak in the vacuum can come from all the miles of vacuum from the servo to the cabin that run through the firewall.....but my advice it's not welcomed, and clearly you know it's a vacuum pod but you don't know where the vacuum pods are?

if you do a search under thread called center vent blues,there is a picture of two pods in center of dash controlling defrost and center flap.my question asked how do you test those pods.thanks for your responses.by plugging yellow vac line and then green line at firewall i can at least narrow down which system is contributing to vac loss affecting delayed shut off.ill end it there.thanks for your help.maybe someone else has something to add.

Just use your mighty vac....apply vacuum, if it holds the vacuum they are good....if it doesn't hold vacuum they are bad....you can even connect a scrap piece of vacuum house to the pod, suck on it....if you can't pull a vacuum its bad....

following up on previous posts.ive gone over to 116.org for more center vent help.

ive determined my acc system has a vac leak.its small,but enough to delay shutdown and affect door locks.plugging green acc line at firewall restores proper shutdown and door lock activation.

on the 116 ther are 2 pods behind center vent controliing center vent aand defrost function.access is through glove box and behind.ill test those pods first and go from there.i can alos take ccu panel off of center console and access vac ports there
