URO parts trans mount

Everyone is saying that URO rubber parts are really bad. I thought while
I was changing the motor mounts I'd do the trans as well. The only
mounts I can find are either URO or Meyle. Has anyone seen a Phoenix
or Lemforder trans mount for 300SD and TD anywhere online? I would bet OEM is going to be quite expensive. I'll check the dealer on Monday but
I'd love a pointer to a Phoenix. I've looked in all the regular places.

Read the many, many pizzzed off threads about uro products. Any of those should stop you from even considering anything uro.

Which vehicle is the tranny mount for ?

for the 85 300TD, Meyle's are sold here... the site sponsor.

300SD

Yes tnbob I can find Meyle or URO. Meyle doesn't rate much higher than URO. I was just asking if Phoenix or Lemforder even makes a mount for 300SD and TD. BTW I'd never buy a URO part based on what I've read.

I too would choose Lemforder, Phoenix, etc. first, but as our cars get older I find that sometimes the choice isn't there anymore.

Febi is the "German" brand to avoid if at all possible. Meyle are generally still thought to be reliable for most stuff.

Always nice to have a 'go to' parts guy or 3 or even 4. Give yours a call and have him get a price and delivery for you.

A member here, mikethezipper, may have a new, non-URO tranny mount for sale. PM him.

On URO, here is a response that greazzer got when he sent URO a message inquiring about the quality of their products:

Sorry guys, the one I have, I have no idea where it came from since I bought it over a year ago. So best assume it is a URO :/ Generally I don't buy URO based on the advice from the people here, but I am known to do stupid things.

If you have to buy from a dealer, Stahl Motors in Monterey sells on line at 20% off. www.benzpartswholesale.com just type in the part# and the price comes up.

I just bought 12 manual FW bolts, lists for $7.24 and got them for $5.80 ea.

Two things:

- as some of you are probably aware, URO is now an original equipment supplier to Mercedes (no idea what specifically). They have been a supplier to Jaguar for some time.

- I looked up a photo of a URO transmission mount on another parts vendor's site. Please sit down. Seated? Good. The photo showed what looked like a substantial part -- others available on this particular site were obviously lower quality from the pics -- AND....

WAIT FOR IT....

It appears to show where a star has been ground off over the part number (just as happens with Lemforder and Phoenix motor mounts).

I am considering ordering one just to see.

BTW Lemforder trans mounts are widely available in Europe for about $50 but are not showing up from any vendors in North America.

IMO

If the only part offered is URO = you are better served re-casting your existing mounts...

A quick search of my archived emails I found this order placed in June 2011 for my 5spd
Quote:
ÜRO PARTS 1242400618 (124 240 0618) Transmission Mount $8.78
So I've been using this URO transmission mount both in the 190e and 300d ever since, now going on 30k miles. No problems to report.
