w124 wiper stuck in the open position -

My little boy, JJ, decided to help daddy with his other wagon, he lifted the wiper up so he could clean behind it (I wasn't there at the time) - and it locked! I found it this weekend and have not been able to get it back down onto the windshield. I searched a lot here on the forum but came up with plenty of advice on how to remove the arm, but nothing about the arm being stuck in the open position.

Thanks all !

Put a towel beneath it so it doesn't smack the glass, and push it back. It's a little scary the first time and you think you are going to break it. It takes a little more force than you are comfortable applying.

First time I did it, it scared me to death. I ended up calling vstech and he convinced me to push just a little harder and SNAP it went back into position.

** added for search ** the W210 has the same wiper system as the 124 so this applies as well

x2. People at the gas station think I'm nuts with how hard I pound on the wiper to get it back on the glass.

The first time I did it (also by accident), and just pushed it back down - the *SNAP* sound made me think something broke. So I lifted it up again to check and *CLICK* ... oh boy here we go again

the nice thing about it is you KNOW at a gas station, the wiper is not going to get in the way falling back as you clean the glass!
