Things I've done to the car so far:

- New front/rear rotors
- New starter motor
- New filters
- New fluids
- Replaced the bad rear axle
- Replaced shifter grommets
- Replaced front struts (had some laying around)
- Replaced comfort control module to fix the in-op windows
- Replaced the windshield wiper motor
- Replaced windshield
- Replaced air filters (under wiper motor)
- Replaced both front ball joints

-John

Yep. The badges are on the wrong side and in the wrong place.

Before you get too deep into this thing, check the rear over good for evidence of a bondo nightmare repair. That thing has been wrecked from behind and put back together by someone who didn't care too much about details. Maybe it's fine and the body shop just let the new guy put the badges on, or maybe it was done on the cheap by someone's cousin.

I don't know if you're doing a full restore or what your plans are, but those wheels are also off an earlier model. '95s came with 8-hole chrome. Don't know if it bothers you, but just FYI.

I do like the color, though I'm admittedly a little biased

I'll check the rear in more detail. Haven't seen anything that's concerning.

Yes - the wheels are from my '93 300D parts car. The rims on the '95 were in bad shape.

^ Gotcha. The rear is probably fine, just makes me nervous when I see badges all up in the wrong places. Makes me wonder what other details the shop couldn't be bothered with.

Nice thinkin' but for $900.00 I don't think it really matters if it was rear-ended or not.

Rear ended I don't give a damn about - mine's been wrecked from both ends, and I was happy to pay a lot more than $900 for it. What I would be worried about is it being wadded up like tinfoil back there and someone patching it back up with a thick coat of body filler. Misplaced badges are a tell that something has transpired back there, whether a wreck or a repaint, and whoever put it back together couldn't even be bothered to find a photo of a W124 online to check badge placement. That's my concern, what sort of work was done to the rest of the car.

Sounds like it's probably not an issue in this case, and it's just a pair of misplaced badges on an otherwise undetectable repair.

my e300 the windows don't work and the wiper doesn't work. the guy I got it from said they both went out at the same time and I have been chasing a blown fuse or relay. reading this it looks like it might be separate problems. can you tell me the location of the comfort control module?
