W124 300TD Sat 2 years. now what?

All in all, things work for the moist part. engine starts, shuts off lights all work etc. couple annoyances.

1. blower motor does not work. it worked before.

CCU Sends the signals where it should go, the system loads down like it would be working but the fan does not move air.

2. the Autolock 'lock yer arse out 20 seconds after you think you've unlocked the door' feature

This is an odd one. The car locks itself. (and a slight voice hisses geeetttt oooouuuuttttt) about 20 seconds after you unlock it. CVP works for the doors, all of them come up, and then after a moment, go back down.... I'm lost on this one. anyone have an idea of what this could be?

2) Does it happen if you unlock from any door key lock? Does it happen if you unlock groom inside? If you can't isolate a lock unit or door as the trigger, it's probably the pump. Disconnect the driver door actuator until you find a replacement pump.

My car also sat for 2 years. I found quite a few things in it's tear down and rebuild so far. Little stupid things... Like mouse chewed up the wires and the vac tubes of the vac pump under the rear drivers seat, Just enough to cause issues. built a nice nest (actually a couple of them in various places.)

Sitting is really hard on the car. I had replace almost every vacuum line in the car before the issue that caused the sitting... After sitting I basically had to go and replace them again. Same with any soft fuel lines, Looks like my wheel bearings may be next. Plus any parts that require lube.. from windows to IP linkage, everything needs a fresh coat. It's a labor of love though. OH and if you have not had that cat removed... find a shop a and do that NOW. Make it your 1st priority. Guy did mine for 25 bucks and welded in and replacement pipe. I don't know if it was from the sitting so much, or from the little driving that happened after the head cracked, but the cat was almost totally plugged. See my thread for picture of the inside.

Sounds like some water in the power steering fluid....basically probably was in there before you parked it....actually reddish, maybe there is automatic transmission fluid in it, which is pretty similar and some cars actually use it for ps fluid.

Fixed the autolock with a new Central pump. Fixed the blower motor, apparently I did not connect it to the firewall after I replaced it. even forgot I replaced it lol. Powersteering is going to be flushed, new filter, new oil, new oil filter, new oil level sender/gasket adjust the bowden cable to fix a shift irregularity and it's good to roll.
