 I would appreciate that he made the effort to approach you directly rather than take it up with the office behind your back.  Why would anyone expect him (look's like a guy's penmanship) to sit around until you show up?  There are likely T&Cs that you signed at some point describing the visitor parking spot policy.  If enough residents raise a stink, they'll make things more difficult to you and put the cost into the renters' or owners' dues.  Maybe you should rotate your cars between your assigned spot and a visitor spot.
