Saw this on my 190 today which is parked in visitor parking since they'll only give one decal.

I agree that visitor parking should be for visitors only, unless management doesn't have a problem with you parking your 2nd car there. But, I don't like an anonymous jerk like the kind who left the note on your car. He probably walked off with a smug sense of satisfaction after leaving that chicken scratch. If he had a problem with your car, he should've told management and left it at that. Or, if he had enough cajones, he should've approached you in person.

When I got the parking decal I asked what the rules of the visitor lot was and they said anyone can park there, just not in resident spots.

I have driven the car too so it hasn't stayed in the same spot. I just always back it in. Usually in a spot close to where I have parked it before. I guess that means I haven't moved the car. Plus why where they stalking my car for a month and I didn't force his/her friend to park illegally.

Yes. There are much better ways to handle it. I walked away with a smug sense of satisfaction after I just turned the car around in the same spot.

I plan on going into the office tomorrow and seeing what I should do. I don't have anywhere else near me I could keep the car.

If management has no problem with it, their beef is not with you, but with management.

Not your problem either for their friend's car getting towed. They probably parked illegally.

I would appreciate that he made the effort to approach you directly rather than take it up with the office behind your back. Why would anyone expect him (look's like a guy's penmanship) to sit around until you show up? There are likely T&Cs that you signed at some point describing the visitor parking spot policy. If enough residents raise a stink, they'll make things more difficult to you and put the cost into the renters' or owners' dues. Maybe you should rotate your cars between your assigned spot and a visitor spot.

That`s the problem with living in Apartments, HOA`s, Town Houses, Condominiums etc... there is always someone that is sticking their nose in your business, and all the rules to live by.

If you could rig up a surveylence camera to see who this individual is, then take it from there.....

I am not sure if the management has a problem with it or not, specifically. They said at the time that anyone could park there and I did not ask further than that. I will have to go into their office tomorrow.

Would a guy apologize for his penmanship?

At the time of signing my contract there was no assigned parking but I just read through contract and will post what it says.

I would do that but when I got the decal they took the make/color/registration so they would think that decal does not go with that car.

Any vehicle, boat or trailer that is not expressly authorized for parking on the property or any vehicle, boat, or trailer which appears, in the sole opinion of the Management, to be abandoned, inoperable, without current registration or license tags or in any way creates an eyesore will be towed at the Owner's expense within 24 hours of being tagged. Tenant agrees and consents that if the Tenant's vehicle, boat, or trailed is towed pursuant to this clause, and if for any reason Landlord has to advance the cost of the tow, payable in full as of the date on which the charge is incurred by Owner. Recreational vehicles, trailers, campers, buses, boats, or trucks larger than one ton must have Owner's written permission to park on the property. All vehicles must be pulled forward into the parking spaces.

They could consider the 190 inoperable as it has no dash, carpeting, or passenger seat. It could also be an eyesore as the hood is primer gray compared to the rest of the car.

That's a crappy lease. You should move. Where I live, I've been wrenching since I moved in and no one has complained. I've parked as many as three cars at a time on the property without a problem. A neighbor had a Honda with a blown motor and no registration in the same spot for about six months before they gave him any grief over it. This place is pretty chill.

Of course, I did not read the lease until moving in and still have until August. I like the place and the price though.

This is the first complaint, and it is from another resident who doesn't want to take responsibility for their actions.

I will see what the office says tomorrow.

Usually, a vehicle is considered inoperable if it's missing the engine, on blocks, hasn't been registered, missing a windshield, or something along those lines. Here's a link about unfair inoperable vehicle laws that discusses how some jurisdictions and organizations define what makes a vehicle inoperable.
