Keep your Fingers crossed

And maybe say a small prayer if you are so inclined.

Pulled my injectors and sent them to Greazzer along with brand new Monark nozzles for re-build, etc. Packed them nice and protected and sent them Priority Mail.

Got a message from Mark a bit ago. They arrived, but the box was totally destroyed! He took a picture of the box and it looked like it took a shell hit in a war.......

He is going to look things over and let me know if anything is missing, or damaged beyond repair. I am SO mad right now I can't see straight. I work hard, sacrifice for the family, then scrimp and save to get something done nice for me (and the car) and it now is quite possibly shot to hell because of some ham-fisted cro-magnon moron that does not give a rat's ass about someone else's hard earned things.

Sorry if this sounds negative, but I am very upset and dis-heartened right now. Just praying the news from Mark (aka Greazzer) will be positive.

Glenn

Man that stinks. Will pray for the situation. Let us know how it turns out.

At least it is in good hands now.

Priority mail you should have $50 of insurance that comes with it.

I just mailed 2 window regulators to Texas. had to make a box, it`s got 5 lbs of Hot glue, extra bracing inside, all Bubble wrapped and with a ton of peanuts. should be Gorilla proof. I added $50 of insurance for less than $2.

You must have used the small $5.80 box? Might have been good to put it into a larger box with bubble wrap. maybe the weight of the injectors was too much for the flimsy PO Box. when they are sorting, they throw boxes from one bin to another, especially this time of yr.

Greazzer sent me a set in a small Priority box, and they arrived ok. Just the luck of the draw. I feel for you.

Good news !

They are soaking and will be shipped on Tuesday before noon. One is marred on the corner, but no biggie. So, your MB will have rebuilt injectors for Christmas ... maybe a little late, but well before the New Year. I will have them 25PSI +/-balanced which is 100% better than FSM. Thank goodness that the dope at the PO let me have the box. It had a very, very faint odor of diesel, and because the box was toast and ripped open, you could smell it barely. They were going to keep it. Makes sense? It sure didn't to me. But, after about 20 minutes of haggling...wanting to talk to the head honcho, they let me have the box and that was after I wrote a note on the postal insurance delivery card "Box destroyed".

So, chill out !

just to ask, where did you get the Monark Nozzles? I got mine from an expensive place we don't mention here known as 'source' because I couldn't find anyone else. I need to get a set for the 240 now and would rather go elsewhere for them.

When I sent my injectors to him, from Florida, they went to Mississippi first so they arrived late and the box was also destroyed.

Actually, that is the third screwed up postal deal in the past month or so. I sent another forum member injectors and an envelope since I forgot to include something as agreed. I sent a 2nd envelope because it was a no-show after a few weeks. Both envelopes did eventually show up but it took about 3 weeks and the priority box I sent to him was delivered to the wrong address. Very bizarre and this third story just happened within the past 3-4 weeks. I cut and paste the address sent to me and blow that up to 24-36 font so its impossible to screw up the address. You got me.

Glad things worked out. In all my years shipping with USPS, UPS, or FedEx never had a problem - lost, damaged or whatever, but you never know.

wow, everything you've SENT to me has arrived basically intact... maybe in addition to individually wrapping the injectors, they need to be taped together so the mass doesn't individually rattle? keep the thing one piece...

I'm glad everything showed up. and just to be clear...

I allow the "source" to be discussed when talking about monark nozzels as they are not available anyplace else... so in that instance it's not a competition with Pelican.

Were the injectors bound together and packed _tightly_ in the box?

Packing many reasonably heavy items in fluffy padding is a sure way to have the box break from the _inside_ as the heavy items will bounce around.

I've had a couple of crankshafts shipped over the years and had very specifically told the sellers to roll the crank up in cardboard like a rug, then tape tightly. The crank that was tightly wrapped arrived just fine. The second shipper ignored my very specific instructions and used newspaper packed in a too large box. This box arrived shredded, this was not the fault of the shipping company!

No matter the shipper, boxes ride on a conveyor, get dumped on a belt, tossed in bins. This is just the reality of shipping, don't expect someone to be gingerly shepherding single packages across the depot. If your package can't survive a roll down the basement steps, it isn't packed well enough.

I do the "brick" wrapping method. Individual and as one rectangular brick. Not sure what's up with the PO.
