On the lower edge of the bottom seat cushion there are two red buttons. While pushing in the buttons one at a time pull up on that end of the seat cushion and do the same thing to the other end. If you need to remove the seat back you will find two metal brackets at the lower end of the seat back on each end. These brackets are bolted to the body. Remove the bolts on each end. Open the center armrest fully. There is one bolt behind the armrest holding the armrest bracket to the body. Remove this bolt. Lift up the seat back. The seat back is hung on two metal brackets at each end.

Replacement is the reverse. On the bottom seat put it in place, line up the V shaped spring type clips on the holes near where the red buttons are located and sit down on the seat hard until you hear the click of the clip engage the hole. You may need to do one side at a time.

You may want to have a small hammer, or the handle of a small screwdriver (wrapped in something soft), to hit the red buttons with to snap them free. The buttons can be VERY hard to get to move with finger-presssure alone. (Credit to Charmalu for that tip.)

Also two sets of hands is way better than one for reinstalling the seat bottom.

A magnetic parts tray is very useful, but an empty coffee can or margarine tub, etc., is a real headache-avoider when working with screws or other hardware. I used to leave stuff on the carpet but apparently Mercedes carpets eat screws and washers.

I think your owner's manual has pictures (if you have one).
