61x Alternator tensioner bolt bodge
I've been through a couple 61x alternator tension bolt (the big bolt w/ the M8 threaded tensioner rod welded on). One was donated too, sorry.
Anyways, I have an alternative fix, all home depot parts as well: M10 x 100 or 90 all thread hex head cap screw (bolt) M10 washer M10 x stainless wingnut Pull out the old pinch bolt that goes through the slot on the bracket. Pull the M8 tensioner nut out of the bracket- that'll just rattlle all the time. One hand tucks wingnut between bracket and alternator M10 bolt and washer go through the slot in the bracket and the alternator, line up and thread through wingnut. Tension alternator w/ prybar and tighten bolt. Alternator bracket will keep wingnut from spinning, and the connection will tighten w/o need to get a tool where it won't go. Works like a charm so far.
