Need Help!

Hi everyone, was just admiring my 85 300D's Complex hoses and lines and discovered a plastic tube (thin) comming out of a white housing of sorts, next to the Vacuum Valve, on top of the injection pump that goes no where... What is this part, where does it connect to, and what does it do? Please help, would be much appreciated....

If I have your description pictured right it is a vent line and on some cars is vented into the cabin. I don't think it hurts anything to vent it in the engine compartment.

After doing some research, the aformentioned white structure is in fact the vacuum valve, I believe I see a hole for it to go into the fire wall... Maybe I'll stick it in and see what happens...

Randall:

There is a small filter in the cabin to prevent dust from getting into the vacuum system. You might want to crawl up under the dash and try to find the other end of the hose and reconnect it, just to keep dirt out.
