1993 300 D Turbo Install Help
Hey Everyone,
I recently purchased a used turbo and just finished installing it. After running it, for 5 mins, all the oil in my car drain out through the exhaust. After taking back off the turbo, I could see oil behind the back turbine. There was no oil in the front turbine or on top of the turbo. Would you say the new turbo was bad or did I install it incorrectly? I don't see how I could have installed it incorrectly, since it is straight forward. |

Yep. Sounds like bad seals in the turbo. Oil is blowing past the wheel seal and out the exhaust. Not much you can do aside from replace the turbo or have it rebuilt.
Pure Turbos | Turbochargers and Parts | Billet Compressor Wheels | Diesel Upgrades | Rebuild Kits in California did a great job on mine for my 300SD. $375.
