Rebuild for emergency shut off on spin on filter?
Fixed all the fuel lines but now I am seeing seeping from the little plastic knob on top of the bolt for the spin on filter? Indy wants $171 for the bolt/emerg shut off and does not show a rebuild.
Any ideas? Im thinking salvage yard at this point. This is the E300D 1995 BTW.

Somebody did something with what you have but that was like 5 Years ago.
You might look here for the Part Number and use the Part Number in a Google Search to see what comes up and the Price. Once you have the part Number there is several actual Mercedes Dealers that you can plug the part number into for a quick Search. It could at least tell if the parts can be bought as individuals. Shut-off valve
My '95 E300 came without the shut-off valve; it had the plain bolt holding the secondary fuel filter like older and newer cars have. So, I bought and installed the shut-off valve but it never worked. This was discussed in a thread here. I ended up returning the valve and going back to the plain bolt.
Finally, I built a shut-off lever. It turns out that the IP on the 1995 OM606NA engine has the shut-off valve but there is nothing connected to the shaft. Apparently MB decided it was too hard to access, buried under the intake manifold. The thread that resulted from my work is here. The shutoff valve works and that ended the problem as far as I was concerned. I still don't understand why the shut-off valve on the fuel filter works in some engines and not in others. Jeremy Edit: My bolts never leaked.
