What brand of battery do you have in your diesel?

This poll is only for owners of older diesels (assumes you are not on the factory-installed battery).

When Peep Boys has a sale for Bosch I'll grab one of them usually.

I have a MB dealer battery in my 240D. Whenever it is time to replace it I will either get another Interstate or Bosch.

Been quite pleased with optima red top. Got it for free brand new so i decided to install it. I had awful luck with the standard lead acid batteries (autozone duralast). probably got 5 replacements over a couple years. This optima has only impressed me! i can leave my key on acc to run my stereo for hours. if the voltage gets down to 11v, it still has PLENTY of amperage to completely glow it and start it cold. i also notice, even after running the voltage down, it doesn't just die when you put a load on it. i plan to remove the optima sometime and replace it with a proper size H8 or group 49 exide edge agm or diehard platinum. I have heard great things about odyssey but they're about $380 for our size!

The choices are almost all US brands. Planning on making a trip South??

I voted "other brand"

I used to buy from a small local battery shop (brand TC Batteries), but more recently have bought Motomaster Eliminator batteries from Canadian Tire. (C$133 incl taxes with old battery in 2010) Never a problem and good(**) 9 yr warranty close to home or anywhere in country. Current 300D battery is 4 years old. Have similar battery in E320 of about same age (E-class is harder on batteries than 300D!)

** - Haven't claimed on Eliminator, but did on lawn tractor battery and there was no problem.

... Aren't those the reconditioned batteries? Let me know how those work out I've been skeptical about them.. Then again, it's $40.00.

the multiple choice works on this thread... if everybody who has voted will revote on this thread the total will be correct.

I chose other as well as wally and autozoo... I also have an advance battery in my cars... and a AAA battery (interstate I think) and a NAPA battery...

Energizer from Sams club in the 87 300D, Optima in the 200TD, and an OEM in the 190D 2.5. I can't recall the others.

^ DOH!

There should be another vote for other and one less for AutoZone.

Advance Auto is based in VA, probably why I went there.
