1985 380SE in the Pick & Pull

EDITS: I called to verify, this car is actually a 1985 380 SE, with the V-8 gasser.

Yesterday I took the monovalve out of a 85 380SE. The car is mostly intact, the yard has only had it there a week or two.

What interesting parts can I use from it to put on my 84 300SD?

Would the differential be an improvement? Is it an easy change out?

The interior is the wrong color.

The factory BBQ grill is still in the trunk, lol.

I believe the diff is a different size and the mounts to not line up anyways. That was the case on an 87 SDL I was parting out so the 380SE should be the same.

Front brakes are larger than the ones on your 84.

Try grabbing the smaller parts just to have on hand like the ball linkages on the throttle, grommets for washer bottle, a few relays, banjo,s if they look close to the right size etc.

There's no such thing as a 1987 380SE. The 3.8 became the 4.2 for the GenII cars.

The next time I go to the yard, I'll ask what it is again. I may have misremembered the designation. Its definitely a gasser.

The body panels of course are the same as is the cladding. I would also get the tail light assemblies if they are in good shape. I'm not sure if the wood is the same but that would be something else to think about. I would grab all the switches and relays to have spares if nothing else. Also as capflya mentioned the front brakes will be larger but you will need 15" wheels for clearance.

All wood trim is a direct fit. The brakes are too if the car has/had 14" rims.
