W123 Book Group Buy is Closed - Next Steps

Good morning everyone,

I have sent off a quote request to John Summers over at w123book.com for a total of 70 books. I didn't quite expect that much interest when I started this! For those involved, see the quote request below:

Once I receive the quote back from John I will evaluate it. Assuming the combine shipping and volume discount reaches a level where purchasing the books saves the group buyers an appreciable amount of money, we'll proceed as planned.

At that point, the plan will be that I will contact each group buyer on the list and provide payment details and total cost. To re-cap, I will be accepting three forms of payment in an effort to provide options that are trusted, convenient, and affordable:

PayPal payment - fees (2.9% + $0.39) will be included in your total

Venmo - a payment service that is FREE if you use a major debit card, or your bank account, or existing Venmo balance. Has a 3% credit card fee if you chose to use one.

USPS postal money order mailed to me

I will provide details on how each method would work and will indicate what information I need from you.

Also, if you missed out on the group buy but are nonetheless interested, don't hesitate to post here or PM me. I have a wait list. If for any reason someone isn't able to complete their order once the quote is back I will go down the wait list and see if you want to join in their place.

Pseudo update.

I heard from John this morning. He said he is having to figure out packaging for the books. It took him a few days to realize he'd need a crate vs. a cardboard box

Anyway, he just emailed to say they were working on it and would have something to tell us soon.

Also, over on BenzWorld we are having a chat about VAT (value added tax) in the UK and if this purchase should be exempt. In theory the 35 GBP purchase price of the book mentioned earlier includes the VAT. However, this link suggest that a book being exported directly by the seller to a country outside of the "EC Fiscal Area" would be exempt from the tax. That tax is 21%. I just passed this link on to John for his consideration.

See uberwasser is back. So, am I correct that this is no longer going to happen?
