The last year that Mercedes produced a Diesel without electronic engine management?
Hi all, I have owned over 30 Mercedes in my life and have had many W123 Diesels..... I even had a 300D stretch limo for 8 years...... My question is: What was the last year that a Mercedes diesel sedan was produced that did not have electronic engine management controls?
I am leaning towards a 2003-plus CDI but would gladly take a late 90s W210 diesel if it didn't have a computer dictating to my engine. I have an ML500 that's been a electronics nightmare and though it now has 238,000 miles, I would rather have a vehicle with less electronics. I own a smart-phone so technology bells and whistles are not a requirement in my car..... I've looked at the W-124 diesels but are not partial to them as I already have a 1995 E320 wagon. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated....... Thank you all in advance.
