^^ That's a good idea. Now assume I see air in there, what would my recourse be?
I do see some air bubbles in my in-line filter. Is that normal or a tell-tale sign of something? When I put each new one in, I prime it a few times with the pump until it's full, but due to the angle at which is sits there's always a little air left. |

Find the source and fix them of course. When idling reving the throttle, you should see a solid fuel stream there (in the clear line before the cigar hose), no occasional bubbles, or lot's of bubbles or foamy fuel.

The fuel jumper lines are the 3.2 ones.
Normal for an air bubble in the inline (primary) filter when not running.

For anyone interested in an update:
I've been driving this car daily since I sorted out the fuel system. It's been such a joy to drive. Unfortunately, circumstances have just in the last two weeks caused me to consider selling it. I don't want to, so I listed it at a price that I'd be a fool to turn down. I'll be buying an SL500 in the next week or so also, but only to flip. If the diesel sells in that time, that means I won't have to dig too far into my pockets. If it doesn't sell, OH WELL! I'll just keep enjoying her. If anyone is interested, I can send the craigslist link. I don't know if it's kosher to post it in this thread. |
