Losing a diesel, gaining a diesel

Hey all,

Just some news:

Sold my '85 300TDT this week and will be heading out to Lancaster, PA to pick up Fred Burgess' '84 300D which was listed for sale here in the classifieds section. I'm also going to be putting my '70 280SE up for sale, so if anyone's interested, please see the post in the classifieds section here. I will post pics as well shortly.

A good friend of mine just got a new Mini Cooper so I think we're going to be taking that out to Fred's to get my "new" diesel. Can't wait!!!

Rick,

For the same reason I'm also selling my 280SE. Because I'm moving to a condo which only has on-street parking in a small community in Cincinnati (Mount Adams) and the streets are very Boston-esque, meaning narrow and one-way. And cars tend to get hit by careless people parking, etc...and the wagon and the 280 (which are my two daily drivers) are too nice to leave on the street, so I figured something a little rougher would be perfect, of course, Fred's 300D looks pretty darn nice! But the other factor was the money I have invested in each car, and I will have ALOT less into Fred's than I do into the wagon and the 280SE.

things that make you go...hmmmmm!

Ok, Aaron, so you're gonna park my 300D turbo on the street and let it get beat up?! Hmmm, maybe I should keep it here to protect it! Hah! Just kidding. It'll be a great car for you and I'm sure you'll do more for it than I can. However...you better hurry up and take it...sun's been out, sunroof open, and that engine just keeps clacking along like it'll go forever... I'm getting attached to the darn thing.... clack clack clack.....! 370,680 miles - piece of cake! FRED

Wise move, here in Boston there are three w123s and a w126 within a couple of blocks and all of them, mine included have the grill cracked. Gotta love those SUVs and the people who drive and park them in the city. The new compact cars with pointy noses get it right on the hood. I bought the car knowing it was gonna happen and the car already had a couple of big dents, just pisses me off in principle, sorry guys I just had to vent.

PS anybody have any ideas for rigging up a jumbo set of mercedes compatible nerf bars?
