1984 300d climent control not working
when I bought the car it I was told that the AC works from a new red switch on the front panel. so I thought it would not be hard to fix. I found out that the climent control unit was burnt out. So I bought a used one and when I hooked it up to the plugs it started to burn. I would like to fix the system. the blower switch did work but now it does not. So now I have two new switches on the panel I am wondering if someone changed the wiring inside the plugs. thanks

Sounds like you have a nice mess there.
The climate control system is wired such that if the auxiliary electric coolant pump in the engine compartment seizes up, it often fries the board on the control unit. The pump is located on the passenger side, up front. I suggest you start by unplugging it, then try plugging in another control unit. However, at this point it's hard to say what has been messed with in terms of the wiring.

Your best bet it to get rid of all the extra/non-factory wiring and get it back to the proper wiring.

The pump does work, only when I put power to it. On its own it does not work. The heater core was unhooked when I bought the car so, I think that it is no good. It looks like I have to replace it and that's a lot of work. thanks for the help. Gary
