Are these three wires...
I pulled the driver's door panel off of my 1986 300SDL and found these three wires near the back of the door. Are these the wires used to send current to the door lock pump when the key is turned in the door lock?
I can't test anything; the driver's door lock cylinder will not turn with the key and I have no way to test the lock pump (that I know of, maybe you can help). How should start the process of troubleshooting/fixing this set of problems? Pull the driver's door handle out and see what's going on in there? If these are the three wires that can run the pump, is there a way I can at least test the pump and the vacuum mechanisms by jumping these wires in some fashion?

Hook up your trusty test light and see if they get hot when the lock is actuated. If they are the pump wires, one should get hot for "lock" one should get hot for "unlock" and the other is probably ground. Are you sure that they aren't simply unhooked from a switch attached to the door lock? Remember that there HAS to be a switch somewhere that tells the pump what to do and I'd expect it to be on the lock.
In the service of full disclosure I have to admit I'm never been in a door like yours but those are just good electrical wiring troubleshooting techniques - I've done lots of that. Dan |

based on this diagram it looks like all three are for the door lock actuator
