Install a proper pilot bearing now otherwise you will be changing the pilot bearing _AND_ transmission later. With a clutch dragging that badly, you will wear out syncros and shifter forks.
Make sure the flywheel and pressure plate are flat, is one is cupped the clutch will drag as will gummy input shaft splines.
Also, if you have done a mish mash of parts, you might not be getting enough pressure plate release.
My 1984 Ford Bronco 2 has syncro reverse. ( Mazda transmission ) as does my 88 and 99 Ranger ( also Mazda trans but different model )
