Sure, if you plan on replacing every component in the system anyways.

My local CarQuest has Fibi hydraulic suspension fluid on the shelf.

I just bought a 5 gallon bucket of Hyken Glacial Blue, delivered to my door. Total price works out to approximately $6.31 @ liter. I am not too fussed about the viscosity at -80°, either C or F; I will not be driving anything.

The SLS appears to be holding and no leaks yet. Fingers crossed.

Hyken Glacial Blue is one of the best substitutes there is for the official stuff. The MIL SPEC is considered the gold standard because it takes into account the viscosity required for aircraft landing in the arctic.

The Citroen cars use the Mil-Spec in their LHM+ but most cars do not see cold conditions like this.

There is a DANGER to mixing hydraulic fluid-mineral- with brake fluid - vegetable- oils. That's what destroys the system.

There are a wide variety of oils now that exceed the MIL SPEC.

I have gallons of LHM+ and 5 gallons of Hyken Glacial Blue, so I'm good forever.

The best hydraulic oil IMHO is Phillips X/C 5606A. $6.99 a quart, can buy slightly cheaper by the gallon.

This stuff is like human blood-- never needs replacement, just maybe a transfusion every few years.

If the TD was a daily driver, this stuff will easily last 5 years with no changes, just check the levels to ensure you have no leaks.

You bought Hyken, that's very very good also, I will use mine up then drain and go to Phillips.

Hyken is also used in severe service giant military fork-lifts, so it's available at every construction products place and Amazon.

The Phillips can be purchased 24 quarts for 144.00 online. You can always split with three other people and be set for life!

I used the Phillipps 5606A (clean type) fluid in a toyota power steering. Works good, even when it becomes really hot. No leaks yet. The pump had a very faint whine before in the mornings, but its silent as mice in a church library after that.
