***PFC parallel flow condenser***
OK... as it has been raining for days and is to continue to do so for the next week I am getting some time to research parallel flow condensers.
From what I've read here and on other forums they appear to help... but, I've not seen anyone rave about the difference. For the most part I've seen folks using 14" x 22.5" and 16" x 20" condensers which are slightly smaller than the 16" x 23" of the stock serpentine. The other dimension, thickness, which I see no references to in the posts is of interest to me as well. There is the fellow who hooked dual PF condensers (in series) and seems to have had great success with this configuration. (Yes, his is a Sanden conversion as well... but, that's not where I'm headed at the moment). So, size... I have found a 16" x 22" which is very close to stock and a 16" x 24" which may be feasible to install as well. Now, thickness... I asked ACKits about the thickness of their condensers and received this reply; "The painted versions run close to 1/2 inch thick. The non painted versions run closer to a inch in thickness." Um... OK... So, I have discerned that 7/8" thickness is very common but I found this... Universal Automotive A/C Condenser Kit Heavy Duty 14" x 23" x 44mm w Fittings... this is double the thickness! I've emailed them for a spec sheet/schematic etc... I am also looking at a Maradyne M162K 'low profile' 16" fan... http://www.maradynehp.com/pdf/produc...mpion_M162.pdf as I cannot find the specs (especially static pressure) on any of the Genuine Mercedes/Bosch/Behr fans I've been looking at.
