1982 240D Shifter Column Assembly - 4 speed man needed
Hello,
Any help is greatly appreciated. I recently bought the above mentioned MB and love it. However the shifter is on the way out, where can I get one? My mechanic says they are no longer manufactured. Any ideas? I live in Los Angeles, CA if that means anything. Thank you!! Marc |

What do you mean, on the way out?
There are some bushings that wear out in the Shifter, and there is a kit to replace them. There is also the 3 bushing on the end of the shift rods under the Shifter and 3 on the Transmission. If those are worn, it can cause problems getting from one gear to the next. Check out your local PNP for 240D. also check www.row52.com for 240`s for what ever distance you want to drive. You mention Column assembly, is yours on the tree or on the floor? I have only seen one column shifter in the yards, and that was several years ago. Welcome to the forum. Charlie
