I had just one corner that was getting hard and causing a problem, but my power steering fluid fixed it.
Seal?

sunroof seal

I just recently had the same issues with the sunroof seal.
It was not properly seating in the roof. My dad removed it and cleaned the heck out of it, took a pocket knife and cleaned all the ridges in the seal and we washed it really well in HOT water. (makes it more pliable) Lots of crud gets built up over the years.

Made sure when we reinstalled it to have it perfectly aligned in the opening, had to readjust it a few times to get it perfect. Now it does not bind the sunroof when opening. Better than having to buy new, and no glue was needed. Just get it centered right and it should work.

Mine was binding the roof, keeping it from opening. I have one that tilts and retracts. (95 E320) Great repair and easy.
