Connecting everything back to a rebuilt head on my 85 wagon. There are two ports in the passenger side at the front for screw in fittings. I have no idea what goes into these ports.

At the rear of the head on the passenger side are the heater hose fitting and the temp gauge sensor.

On the thermostat are two screw in electrical connections, one appears to be a switch and the other a sensor.

I have the engine manual for om617.95 but cannot find the proper page describing the forward two port connections. Does anyone recall what they are? I'm guessing more temp sensors, but I have no idea what for. I have a couple of sensors in the box, but one must be the gauge sender, which leaves me with an open hole.
