Grustiche aussem Munchen!

W114 240D blew past me on the autobahn yesterday, thought about you guys. W114 seems to be the prevelant youngtimer around here. Kind of ironic that I have yet to see a single older Bayaraische Motoren Werke here. Honestly can't remember ever seeing an older one in my trips.

So how fast was it going? Or were you driving slowly?

It's a lot harder to find parts for those old BMWs
I'll bet an old '70s Audi is even rarer over there. I met an engineer with Volkswagen who comes from Germany to the US from time to time.
He collects early '70s Audis over there, and paid me a couple visits to buy parts off a rusty hulk of a '71 Audi wagon that I used to drive back in the '80s.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Germany had a cash for clunkers call for old cars after we did. Now I rarely see a W123 during my trips there.

To make it worse, Germany has and continues to raise the taxes on older cars that are daily driven.

It was probably lumbering along at 80. I was merging on.
