Put the summer wheels and tires on the CDI..... Better looks, less mileage
Installed a new set of tires on the summer wheels a couple of weeks before we took off on our annual summer trip to SC.
Original wheels and tires are 225/55-16, a substantial tire when you are used to W124 cars. The summer set had new BFG G-Comp Sport 2 tires mounted on the AMG wheels I bought from Tyler H. The summer set is 245/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear. Comparing the mileage from our trip last summer using the stock wheels, I lost 5-6mpg with the summer set. Was it worth it? Oh yea..... Jim
