1980 300 D blower works on defrost.

The climate control system works fine except that the blower only runs on defrost. For a while it ran on Bi Level as well. I removed the blower and cleaned up the commutator. The brushes are fine.

I do not want to go into a lot of work or money. I live in a climate where it is hot all the time. All I will ever use is the air conditioner.

How can I set it up so the dash vents are permanently open and the others are closed, and I can press "Defrost" and get air out of the dash only?
