Stuck Jack

Well, the only hydraulic I have is stuck under the rear right corner, under the jack point. Any ideas?

Have tried gripping with pliers, but now all the joints in my fingers, hands, and wrists are excruciatingly painful...

I think you may need to be mechanicing using the buddy system... getting a car up in the air can be dangerous.... do you have Jack stands to place under it after you jack up with the hydraulic jack ?

Thank you so very much for your concern! Means a lot.

I kind of feel the same way, but have no one to buddy with. Even tried a fellow bachelor that also works alone, but we apparently both like working alone. Worse case, I be stuck a week (go to Church every Sunday and if don't, get a call checking in, except this last Sunday). However, do have a cell phone and a dog that can clear a 6'-6" fence, so think if she was panicked enough could get over. Not sure what she do then, but has found dog owners to get help, so bet she go to the neighbor we know's back door and knock on it (taught her how to use her tail to knock).

I have got trapped under a car once being in a hurry (and by myself), so now paranoid. I not only use axel stands, but leave the jack in as extra measure. Then I try and shake the auto and be sure doesn't move. Oh, and never put the axel stands all the way up.

OK, sounds like you are properly worried about accidents.... but keep your cell phone taped to your body.... I have had some stupid close calls way back...
RLeo got a hand stuck to the concrete just a few years ago doing the rear suspension.. got lucky and got it out... springs are sneaky and powerful and fast acting...

Cell is most often in my pocket.

Jackstands are a must, and leaving the jack in place is a darn good idea. I am paranoid about getting the car on top of me and get slightly claustrophobic underneath a vehicle, so for added piece of mind I bought a bunch of 4x6"s (really not that expensive) and I stack those lengthwise underneath the rocker panels until they almost touch. That way even an earth quake can't bring the car down on me. Problem is your only point of entry underneath the car is either the front or back, but that's OK to feel safe. :-)

Alaska is known to have some earthquakes.... so in an earthquake you get splinters...
a fair trade off...

In addition to jackstands and leaving the jack, if I have a wheel off, I also place it under the car as an added safety device.
