delivery valve replacement issues
I just got around to replacing my delivery valves which ended up being a relatively straight forward job with one exception. I cleaned the top of the ip very well however when I removed the upper holder the slot with the o-ring on several was dirty with what looked like chunks from the degrading o-rings. The O-rings looked original, anyway a small amount of krud/ very small particles got in a well or two. Any easy options...... do I try to bleed the lines
Also it took about 3 times the torque to bust them lose compared to what I torqued them too. Is that normal Thanks

I would have flushed the chambers in the IP with transmission fluid. The IP has to be surgically clean.
Whatever it took to bust them free is irrelevant. Hopefully you followed the torque procedure bit by bit including the tighten/loosen x2 and then the final tighten to the higher final torque figure.

Yeah, i did the whole 30 nm, 30 nm, 35 nm process. That part was super easy.
Will it do any good to take everything back apart and flush it or just remove the lines at the pump and crank for a while...The top of the pump was perfectly clean and fluid was flowing out as soon as I cracked open the valves. Think a pipette would help?Anyway hope I didnt ruin anything. |
