delivery valve replacement issues

I just got around to replacing my delivery valves which ended up being a relatively straight forward job with one exception. I cleaned the top of the ip very well however when I removed the upper holder the slot with the o-ring on several was dirty with what looked like chunks from the degrading o-rings. The O-rings looked original, anyway a small amount of krud/ very small particles got in a well or two. Any easy options...... do I try to bleed the lines
Also it took about 3 times the torque to bust them lose compared to what I torqued them too. Is that normal
Thanks
