Thanks for the info and fun over the years

I just (finally) sold the 85SD. For much less than I thought it was worth. Turns out it didn't have a salvage title after all.. long story.
Anyway, I learned a lot and hope I helped at least one person with their car.
These are still amazing cars 30 years on.
Roberto

PS: Read the back of your car... there is no such thing as a 300TDT ....

Walking isn't a lost art: one must, by some means, get to the garage.

Happy trails

Sorry to see you leave the fold but... more than one soul has found their way back (I did it once already).

Strange how these cars are offered at high prices but won't sell at that price.

So....you're out of the game?

I'm afraid that I need to buy a newer car. Keeping the older ones going is becoming too time consuming and we're always tempted to rent for a long trip which is also a pita.

I can see getting out. Not because these cars are bad, but because many critical parts are outrageously priced. One would think that with millions of W123's sold around the world, they would be almost as easy as a VW Bug or old Chevy, but nada. But research shows there weren't a lot sold even in the large U.S. market. I don't know if M-B works to keep a floor on parts prices. Owners here who denigrate vendors trying to provide affordable parts doesn't help (read the Uro rants). If M-B is complicit, they aren't helping themselves since I would never consider a new M-B, BMW, Volvo, or most Euro cars. After 10 years, most have negative value due to outrageous parts.
