No matter how reputable the conversion company is or was, it is a Frankinstein so to speak. You never know how good it holds up until you have had an accident. I don't think I want to find out then. I would enjoy the pictures, just about it.

I will say that is probably the most beautiful w123 conversion I've seen... I'd want to have it up on a lift and inspected first though... none the less, I love it! If he posted pictures of all the structural work that they did I could see it getting that price...

It's a shame really that Mercedes never made a w123 or w126 coupe convertible since both cars have such elegant lines that so easily lend themselves to a convertible.

I'd take my chances in this thing, blows that W123 out of the water: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-jNH45lWpI

I've seen 1st gen Datsun Z cars with the top off. They are beautiful and a vert is 1 option that should have come from the factory for Zs and MBZs. If I could have a 123 or 126 convertible that was well done with the top folding reasonably easily and the frame reinforcement sufficient and unobtrusive, I would definitely want one. We're becoming too sophisticated. Now we have folding hard tops when the low tech tops of early MGBs used to suffice.

I wouldn't pay that price for that many miles unless lots of work had been done to the drive train and all of the little things that fail.
