You must have missed the picture -- those are the butt-ugliest Euro lights I've ever seen (circle lenses???). Many things are on eBay for a reason...

oh well :p They are Euro lights. I guess if you have an early model 240D they wouldn't look so bad. This kind of headlights were never offered on the 280 as far as I know.

Contrary to Ron I like how these look. I think that the square lights are "butt ugly", to each his own. I have a pair on my 1977 240D. They throw out good light and look similar to the originals. The only downpoint is finding a replacement headlight when they go out. The bulb in mine is a 45/50(?) Osram, unlike any I've seen on DOT headlight setups. I had to buy a replacement at a specialty import parts store. They had to literally blow the dust off the box to make sure it was the correct number. Even with lower wattage than the originals they put out better light because of the reflector.

euro headlight

In Europe, all the W123s before 82 or 83 (exept the 280) have the circle headlight.
After this date, they all have the square headlight.

The shipping will cost too much. Not really worth it, in my opinion.

Wow! I think those look much better than the newer euro style! I think I might just buy a pair. Now if only they accepted PayPal in Germany....

Thanks for the links, though.

European Headlights... Finally a reasonable supply!

I was just outbidded by someone on Ebay on a pair of early Euro style headlights (w/ the circles) and really appreciate the post on the German Ebay Site. They have tons of these lights available in comparison to the US and will ship to the US. Not sure what US shipping costs are but am researching at the moment. They are going for about $170 USD before shipping.

A while back there were Euro lights offered by a guy in Germany. His shipping was reasonable considering. If you research the shipping options and can offer the seller the most economical venue this may be doable.
