Brake pad Thickness

The CDs no longer work with either computer, like were any use. So, using the Haynes manual and has rears for 1985 at 15.5mm without the backing. However, the pads I have are 15.5mm with the backing or 8.5mm without.

My current rear pads are 7.8mm, so trying to confirm if warn out or still serviceable.

Like to also have the front specifications to confirm that also and correct if required.

Thank y'all in advance!

On your CD service manual for some reason clicking "yes" with the mouse no longer works. Use your "tab" key until "yes" is highlighted then use the enter key. I just finished putting 18.5mm on the front. Haven't done the back, but I believe 15.5mm.

Steve, thank you.

Friend suggested another source and has the pad at 10,5mm with a 5mm backing. Wear limit is 2mm and I am at 7,8mm or 2,7mm, which is ,7mm too far. At least caught it now.

This all confirms I can use Volkswagen Type 3 front pads in the rear (I bought a huge quantity when on a terrific sale so nice my hoarding has paid off).
