Pretty much any smartphone ever sold can connect to wi-fi. Whether you have that enabled or not is another question. And whether you have a wi-fi network available to connect it to is yet another question.
Anyway. Feel free to keep arguing about this

All of this because Funola refused to believe ...and was afraid to give me his cell phone number so I could start a ' chat' and then take a picture while in chat and send it to him.. perhaps I am not the one stuck in my ways....

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9200 - Full phone specifications

This is the spec of the Maga Smart phone. It has WiFi and everything. So do not blame the phone. It can be used anywhere with Free WiFi, like Starbuck, libraries or home WiFi router. I think it is better to stick to antiquated Auto A/C then using any technology.

NO! It is because chat is not the way to send a high res. pic, which the carrier resizes and cuts the # of bits to reduce bandwidth making it illegible. You really should get with the times and upgrade what you have for internet and phone. Times change and you should not be stuck to a landline. I know someone who was paying close to $90 a month for an AT&T landline with unlimited long distance calling, no internet= big rape. It took a lot of convincing to make them switch to Time Warner Cable with unlimited phone + internet 3 MB/sec, all for $34/month. The data speed is the slowest they offer but works fine streaming video on ROKU. I bought them a wireless wifi router for $15 on Ebay instead of renting it for $5/ month.

They did not start using the word ' Galaxy ' until after I got my phone..
it does not have a micro sim ( as shown on that page ) or any kind of removable storage ...
if it had any sim I would have moved to TMobile ...

You have a Samsung Mega Android smartphone. It should come with lot's of apps. Wifi is in the settings. It sounds like you need to learn how to use the phone. Go to any Best Buy, they have Samsungs reps there who are very knowledgeable and can help answer any questions on their phones and teach you how to use it.

I need my cell phone to call AAA, USAA, 911
it costs me $8 a month.
I use my computer at home to access the internet. By not accessing the internet with my cell phone it is pretty much hack proof.
I open up my paper FSM MB manuals to search for some answers.

Electronics and the web progresses at a rate that's orders of magnitude faster than engine technology. So the "get with the times" comment is appropriate, not rude.

If you are worried about hacking, did you know that your landline is audio all the way to the central office? Someone can just clip a telephone set at the junction box outside your house or pole or somewhere along the way to the central office and listen in. Cable phone service or cell phone is much more secure.

You are also assuming lack of familiarity as compared to an intentional decision with regard to the smart phone and connection to the internet.

That is the only gear I currently have hooked up to use for that.
