Are they making LED headlights for the early 126 autos?

I've looked around a bit on the www and can't seem to find any.

There's so few on the road vs other vehicle models, when you consider the number of people who would actually buy them there's zero chance of a profit for a manufacturer, hence no one has bothered producing any.

They have supposedly good LED H4 bulbs now. Cyclops has some that are designed to work in halogen housings and are rated very well. You just have the issue that they are back ordered for months.

White LED Bumper Running Lights

I'd like to put (I think) two strip running lights in the front bumper grill on my W126 for daytime running. Similar to newer model MBs.

Really more for "I'm here" visibility. Otherwise in my high traffic areas I need to run with the headlights on. With a dark colored car I periodically have vehicles puling out in front of me when my lights are off.

Anybody seen an aftermarket products that may fit?

It depends on whether you are looking for the euro-style:
CG® 02-AZ-MBZS81-C - Mercedes S Class W126 1991 Chrome Euro LED Headlights
or the H6054 replacement style:
https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/high-beam-and-low-beam-headlight-bulb/rectangular-h6054-led-projector-headlights-dot-approved-led-headlights-conversion/3339/

I'm not sure how they would look on the car though.

If you mean by "standard" the original NA spec headlamps, everyone on the planet needs more light than those things provide, age be damned.

For your night driving, I would suggest you get a set of standard Euro-style headlamps. If those are not bright enough, you can install high-wattage motorcycle-spec H4 bulbs. I ran theoe in my w116 for years. You need to pay extra attention to the headlamp aim if you do that, or everyone will be flashing you on two-lane roads as you approach. (Some people maintain you need to install relays in the headlamp wiring if you use those bulbs. My local auto electric specialist disagreed, so I did not.)

For daytime, you could either wire up the H3 foglamps in the euro lights as daytime running lamps -- a bit of a power drain just for the sake of daytime lights -- or you can find aftermarket LED strips on eBay or at other quality aftermarket suppliers (cough) that can be installed to do the same.

BTW, I thought the lamps in the link provided by SDBlue looked ridiculous when I saw them in ads (not on a w126 in the ad). I later saw a w126 and a w124 with them, and they look fine on the car. Better than expected.

I like the Hella glass casings that accept the H4 bulb.

ebay has em fairly cheap most of the time.

This guy has a good rep but is not inexpensive. He will have plans to build a harness and upgrade the lights.
