AC Hose insulation
I'm hoping to add fresh insulation to my upper manifold hose (suction side) where it's a metal line that crosses the front of the cylinder head/valve cover. I've found some foam insulation tape that's suggested for temperatures up to 185 degrees F. Is that likely to be safe near this location? Obviously the line will be cool during operation, but I'm worried about the ambient temperatures near the front of the head. It looks like the original insulation was some sort of foam that's pretty thoroughly degraded - I found a little bit of it remaining buried under the cruise control servo that has turned crunchy with age.
