I am in the middle of changing my oil & filter.
The new filter came with a small copper colored washer.
I did not see the old one & where does this one go ?
Any help woyld be appriciated.

Thanks Bill, I panicked and I thought that there was a washer deep in the oil filter basin.
All is good now, and I’m done. Thanks !

Those Copper rings work great for that american car that has a leaky plug. My friend who races was complaining about his oil plug on his 360 cid Chevy engine leaking, I gave him a new copper ring, hasn't leaked since!
