East coast members fairing ok from Matthew?

It's been raining since Friday morning when Matthew cleared Cuba... I haven't been following it's progress much, but it appears it will not make landfall.

How are all the diesel drivers fairing along the path of this monster?

So far our neighborhood is doing well. We had a power outage for just a couple of hours and we're back on the grid now. A fair amount of wind right now but not a ton of rain at our house - yet. The heaviest rain is expected about 11:00 AM today so we'll see what it brings.

Best of luck to anyone else in the path.

Sounds like the wife may be stuck at the hospital (in Savannah) till Monday. Lots of trees down around Savannah area blocking roads including sections of I95. She said the storm was pretty impressive looking out 6th floor window at the hospital and that the hurricane rated (120mph) windows held up good.

Check out pic I posted in this thread.

We're in the middle of it right now. Wind and rain are coming in bands but so far not terrible. We've had a couple of power outages but not too bad. The storm has been downgraded by the NWS to tropical storm status though it does occasionally surge to Cat 1. Our ditch is not too full and we've had no damage outside of a couple of strips of vinyl siding coming loose so all-in-all nothing significant. By Sunday afternoon they expect clear skies and 70*F though with some wind.

Sorry that the Savannah crowd had a harder hit. Hang in there!

Just some 30ish mph wind gusts and a lot of rain in Columbia. Nothing like last October.

I've been in the garage all day yesterday and today with the door open watching it rain. My garage door faces northwest so the wind has been blowing the wrong way to where it hasn't been raining in the garage.

Just about got the "beast" back together, should be ready to start it this afternoon!

Charleston Law shut the doors...

so my son came to Greenville, SC for a few days. His neighbor told him his house is still there and there's no extra water close to the homes on their street.

Had a pretty rough flight up the east coast last night, just a lot of wind in the upper atmosphere. Won't be hitting us here in Philly though.

Hurricane Matthew in Orlando

Thanks for asking.
Here in Orlando we were fortunate that storm did not track further west.

Some lost power for a short period of time.

I lost a couple of shingles.

Today (Sunday Oct 9) was stunning. I took the oportunity to chane the oil in my '95 E300.

We lost power off and on for a total of a few hours so not too bad. The cable (TV and Internet) however, was out for a couple of days. Annoying but not terminal. I strip of vinyl siding to reinstall and no one will ever know we had a storm.
